Scrip Fundraiser 

Scrip is simply a word that means "substitute money" - in other words, scrip is gift certificates (cards) from national and local retailers.  They're the same gift certificates (cards) that you buy at the store.  Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including J C Penney, The Gap, Giant Eagle, BP, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.  

You're probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money.  It's simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates (cards) to our team at a discount.  Families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our team keeps the difference as revenue.  And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:

1. The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business… 
2. You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling… 
3. Our team gets a regular source of revenue. 

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for the Kent Twisters without spending a single additional penny.  Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program!  Scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.

How does scrip work?

"How many of you spend at least $75 a week on groceries?"

"How many of you spend $50 a month on clothing?"

"How many of you spend $30 a week on gasoline?"

"How many of you spend $50 a month dining out?

Let's take the above as an average for a familyFood

        $75/week x 4 = $300/month

Clothing =   $ 500/month

Gas $30/week x 4 = $120/month

Dining out $ 50/monthTotal          

$550/month x 12 months = $6020/year

The average portion of each scrip purchase that the Kent Twisters will earn is 5% on every purchase.  So, an average family, using these modest spending levels, would earn $300 each year for The Kent Twisters.  A family that works at the program by focusing their spending on scrip participating retailers can earn much more to help support the Twisters through this easy system!

Each month the Twisters will be placing an order for scrip from GLscrip.  If you would like to order any scrip please fill out a Family Order form and turn the form and your payment (one check or cash) by the 25th of each month to ensure delivery by the 10th of the next month.  With a little planning you can use scrip for many of the purchases you make each month.
